Description
This is a full-color 1:144 3D print of Sopwith Triplane N5482 of Flight Commander Charles Dawson Booker of 8 Naval Squadron RNAS. Booker was born in Kent but lived until 1911 in Australia. He joined the Royal Naval Air Service and flew Sopwith Pups, Triplanes, and Camels, though most of his twenty-nine victories were on Triplanes and specifically N5482, nicknamed “Maud”. In August 1917 he forced down Adolf Ritter von Tutschek, who was wounded in the shoulder and later recovered. In the spring of 1918 he took over 1 Naval Squadron (soon renamed 201). In August 1918 Booker was shot down by Ulrich Neckel of Jasta 12.
