Description

This is a full-color 1:144 3D print of Sopwith Triplane N6307 of Flight Lieutenant John Edward Sharman of 10 Naval Squadron RNAS.  Sharman was part of flight “B” of Naval 10, also known as “The Black Flight”, because of their cowling and wheel colors, as well as the planes’ nicknames.  N6307 was nicknamed “Black Death”.   Canadian Sharman flew at least 29 raids in Sopwith 1-½ Strutters before joining Naval 10 B “Black Flight”.  He did not stay with Flight B for long, though, transferring to Flight C in June 1917, where his plane was repainted with blue features.  He eventually was given command of Flight C.   He was shot down and killed on 22 July 1917, most likely by flak.

No painting is necessary — this model comes printed in full color, ready to use. The model does not come with a flight stand, maneuver deck, or plane card.  You can find an unofficial plane card for this plane in this paint scheme in the gallery on this page.
