Description

This is a full-color 1:144 3D print of Nieuport 17 B.1566 of Lieutenant William Avery “Billy” Bishop of №60 Squadron RFC.  Canadian ace Bishop is credited with more air victories on B.1566 than any other plane.  There is — and will continue to be — some controversy over the overall count of those victories.  47 seem to have been well-documented, but Bishop himself counted 72, which was confirmed by Wing HQ.  The problem is that Bishop frequently flew solo patrols, and many of his air victories occurred over German territory with other RFC aircraft there to bear witness.  He survived WWI, served as an Air Marshal in WWII, and died in 1956.

No painting is necessary — this model comes printed in full color, ready to use. The model does not come with a flight stand, maneuver deck, or plane card.  You can find an unofficial plane card for this plane in this paint scheme in the gallery on this page.
