Description
This is a full-color 1:144 3D print of R.A.F. F.E.2b №4852 of №23 Squadron, with pilot Lieutenant F.G. Thierry and observer Sergeant B. Irwin. On 17 Sept 1916 this plane was forced down by Martin Zander of Jasta 1. The model shows Irwin standing to engage a target on the plane’s tail — a precarious manuever made possible by a pole-mounted Lewis gun between the pilot and observer.
