This is a full-color 1:144 3D print of Siemens-Schuckert D.III D.1628/18 of Vizefeldwebel Paul Leim of Kest 4b. A Kest –short for Kampfeinsitzer Staffeln — was a Home Defense unit, charged with intercepting Entente bomber units over Germany. The outstanding climb rate of the Siemens-Schuckert D.III made it especially valuable in this role. Other than the black and white fuselage bands and black nose, this plane is in the dark wood factory finish with five-color camouflage on the wings and elevator.
