Description

This is a full-color 1:144 3D print of the Albatros D.II D.1072/16 of Leutnant Josef Jacobs of Jasta 22.  Forty-eight victory ace Jacobs flew this plane in the spring of 1917.  While with Jasta 22, he flew with his friend and commander Erich Honemanns and scored five air victories.  It wasn’t until he joined Jasta 7 in August 1917 and started flying Fokker Triplanes that his score really accelerated, with him scoring thirty victories on that type.  “Kobes” — the logo on this plane — was his nickname.

No painting is necessary — this model comes printed in full color, ready to use.  It comes with an integral flight peg for mounting on game flight stands (not included), which can be carefully removed with a cutting tool, if desired.  The peg is designed for a fairly tight fit; you can file it down slightly if you prefer a looser fit.  The model does not come with a flight stand, maneuver deck, or plane card.  You can find an unofficial plane card for this plane in this paint scheme in the gallery above or at https://linen.miraheze.org/wiki/File:AlbD2-Jacobs-card.jpg.
