Description
This is a full-color 1:144 3D print of a Salmson 2 of 1st Aero Squadron, U.S. Air Service, as flown by Lieutenant William P. Erwin and Byrne V. Baucom. Erwin was America’s two-seater Ace of Aces, with eight recognized victories and another claimed, spread among three different observers. The white cowl rings and forty-eight star flags are unit markings. 705 Salmson 2’s were purchased by the Americans, and 557 made it to the front lines, making it the most important two-seater in the US war effort.
No painting is necessary — this model comes printed in full color, ready to use. The model does not come with a flight stand, maneuver deck, or plane card. You can find an unofficial plane card for this plane in this paint scheme in the gallery on this page.
