Description

This is a full-color 3D print of the Sopwith 1½ Strutter of Lt. H.R. Ellis and Lt. P.B. Schuss of the 90th Aero Squadron, USAS.  Early in their fighting history, in the spring and summer of 1918, the 88th, 90th, and 99th Aero Squadrons used French-supplied Sopwith 1½ Strutters until more modern aircraft could be delivered.  It was — no doubt — a huge relief when the old Sopwiths could be replaced with Salmson 2s starting in mid-summer 1918.  American Stutters mostly featured top-wing Lewis guns in the style of French 1B1s but they were frequently upgraded to twin Lewis guns for the observer.

No painting is necessary — this model comes printed in full color, ready to use. .  The model does not come with a flight stand, maneuver deck, or plane card.  You can find an unofficial plane card for this plane in this paint scheme in the gallery on this page.
