Description

This is a full-color 1:144 3D print of Sopwith Camel F1430 of Elihu Kelton of the 185th Aero Squadron, US Air Service.  The 185th had just received their Camels the month before the Armistice, and as an underused night-fighting unit they took what daytime interception and patrol duties they could find.  On 30 Oct 1918, Kelton was heading toward an enemy balloon in F1430 when he got into a scrap with Fokker D.VIIs of Jasta 10.  His plane was forced down in German territory, as was that of his attacker, Justus Grassman (ten air victories).  The undersides of F1430 are painted in a dark color (probably PC10 or PC12), reflecting their low-visibility night fighter role.

No painting is necessary — this model comes printed in full color, ready to use.  The model does not come with a flight stand, maneuver deck, or plane card.  You can find an unofficial plane card for this plane in this paint scheme in the gallery on this page.
