Description
This is a full-color 3D print of Aviatik D.I 338.02 of Oberleutnant in der Reserve Bela Macourek of Flik 1/J. After two years with the mounted artillery, Macourek joined the air service in mid 1916. Working as an observer, he obtained his first air victory in May 1917 in a Brandenburg C.I. By autumn he was flying Aviatiks on the relatively quiet Albanian front. In summer 1918 he transferred to Flik 1/J where he flew with ace Julius Arigi, scoring five victories overall. He was always a strong proponent of Hungarian independence, and his plane was painted with a red-white-green Hungarian band.
