Description
This is a full-color 1:144 3D print of Sopwith Baby 8188, operating off the seaplane tender HMS Ben-my-Chree. The Ben-my-Chree (“Girl of my Heart” in Manx Gaelic) was a converted fast steam transport. She operated Sopwith Babys for scouting and Short 184s for heavier work. The ship served in several exciting actions around Gallipoli, in the Red Sea, and further afield in the Mediterranean until she was sunk in January 1917 by an Ottoman shore battery. This model depicts 8188 in 1916 colors and with no machine gun, as it might have been configured for extended range.
